Secondary ELA Teacher

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (required)
• Teaching Certificate (preferred)
• 2+ Years of experience (preferred)

Performance Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to a class, individual students, or groups of students
• Plan lessons, including preparing learning objectives and goals
• Facilitate learning in the classroom
• Evaluate student performance
• Maintain records and document student progress
• Perform all duties pertaining to area of expertise as required
• Maintain contact with parents in regard to student performance
• Maintain professional development through various activities
• Perform various administrative activities
• Prepare lesson materials, supplies, and equipment
• Maintain contact with students, parents, and other school staff
• Maintain confidentiality
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisor

• Knowledge of current education and instructional theories, methodologies, techniques, and principles
• Knowledge of subject matter
• Knowledge of state, local, and federal laws and regulations affecting the lives and education of students
• Strong understanding of social and emotional needs, development and learning
• Ability to establish and maintain a positive classroom culture
• Ability to communicate effectively using a variety of media
• Ability to work with others as a team
• Ability to organize and maintain records
• Ability to manage time and resources effectively and efficiently
• Ability to evaluate performance and provide constructive feedback
