SECOND UNIT SAWYERS

Duties

• Assisting the primary chainsaw operator in felling trees, cutting branches, or performing other chainsaw-related tasks.
• Operating chainsaws under the guidance and supervision of the primary operator.
• Ensuring the proper maintenance of chainsaws, including cleaning, sharpening, and lubricating.
• Assisting with the setup and securing of work areas.
• Following safety protocols and guidelines to minimize accidents and injuries.
• Providing general support to the primary chainsaw operator, such as carrying equipment, measuring and marking trees, or clearing debris.
• Communicating effectively with the primary chainsaw operator and the rest of the team to ensure smooth workflow and task completion.
• Adhering to environmental regulations and guidelines while performing chainsaw operations.
• Assisting in the cleanup and organization of work areas after chainsaw operations.
• Participating in training programs or workshops to enhance skills and knowledge related to chainsaw operations.

Minimum requirements

• Minimum of 6 months of experience as a chainsaw operator.
• In-depth knowledge and proficiency in operating chainsaws and related equipment for tree cutting, with a strong emphasis on safety protocols.
• Must be committed to “Guaranteed Safety” in all decisions and actions.
• Must pass full-panel drug screen.
• Must pass in-depth criminal background check.
