Packing Line 2nd Operator
We’re looking for a Packing Line 2nd Operator to join our Finishing team at our Ypsilanti Plant (775 James L Hart Parkway).
About the role
The Packing Line 2nd Operator is responsible for set-up, operation, and troubleshooting of the shrink wrap machine, insert equipment, and scanning station camera systems. Working alongside the Packing Line Operator, you’ll monitor product quality on the automated line and help meet production targets.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Packing Line Operator to ensure smooth operation of the line
- Perform all setup and troubleshoot features of the automation line, including the book reorientation device, book breaker, transfer, bump and turn, packager, insert printer, film splicer, and scanning station cameras
- Monitor the quality of product being produced
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment
- Replace the Packing Line Operator when they are away from their position
- Assist with other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- Good attendance record
- Strong communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Good working knowledge of lottery production (preferred)
- Prior packaging experience (a plus)
Skills
- Strong working knowledge of computer applications
- Strong mechanical and analytical skills
- Ability to work well with numbers
