Job Summary

Boston Dynamics is seeking a Second Shift Supervisor, Data Operations to lead safe, day-to-day execution of second shift data operations. This role requires a dynamic servant leader with experience managing teams in an operations or production environment.

About the Role

This role involves owning the safe, end-to-end execution of second shift data collection operations across multiple species. It also includes promoting a safe working environment, managing standard work completion and adherence, providing real-time coaching to drive quality, and partnering across various departments to identify and solve problems.

Responsibilities

  • Own the safe, end-to-end execution of second shift data collection operations across multiple species.
  • Promote a safe working environment on shift, quickly mitigating issues while driving long-term systemic solutions.
  • Manage standard work completion and adherence, and resolve learnings to unblock your team.
  • Provide real-time coaching to drive quality.
  • Be comfortable with difficult conversations to manage performance.
  • Act as a servant leader who is always willing to dive into the work to understand blockers and headwinds, or fill in for the most mundane tasks on shift as needed.
  • Partner across R&D, Fleet Operations, IT, and Building Operations, identifying the resources needed to solve a problem and influencing change to drive results.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Turn insight into action—gather insights from data, first-hand accounts, and observations, then quickly translate them into action plans you can complete with the resources at your disposal.
  • Use data to evaluate how your improvements are working, and be comfortable adjusting plans that aren't working.
  • Identify bottlenecks and develop creative solutions to resolve them.
  • Drive sustainable results through the design and implementation of durable tools and mechanisms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of employee performance management experience.
  • Demonstrated success leading large, fast-paced teams in an operations or production environment.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to turn data and observations into actionable plans.

Qualifications

  • Physical demands: ability to frequently stand, walk, push, pull, squat, and climb stairs for up to 12 hours at a time, as well as lift up to 49 pounds.

Benefits

The salary or hourly pay range for this position will be clearly stated in the job posting as required by Massachusetts law. The base pay range for this position is between $101,893.45 - $127,367.10 Base pay will depend on multiple individualized factors including, but not limited to internal equity, job related knowledge, skills and experience.
