About the role
The Handwork Assistant assembles, packages, and prepares print materials and promotional items into complete kits according to client specifications. This role requires attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM to 11:30 PM.
Responsibilities
- Assemble various printed materials and promotional items into kits following detailed work orders and specifications.
- Perform quality control checks to ensure kit contents match requirements and meet quality standards.
- Count, sort, and organize printed materials and components for kitting projects.
- Package completed kits using appropriate materials (boxes, envelopes, bubble wrap, etc.).
- Apply labels, stickers, and shipping information accurately.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Track inventory of kitting supplies and materials.
- Report any quality issues or discrepancies to supervisor.
- Assist with bulk mailings and special packaging projects as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment.
- Other tasks as assigned by supervisor(s).
Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Qualifications & Skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Basic math skills and familiarity with measuring tools.
- Previous experience in assembly, packaging, or warehouse work preferred.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Time management skills to meet deadlines.
- Basic problem-solving abilities.
- Clear communication skills.
- Ability to maintain focus on repetitive tasks.
