Job Summary

Aid in the testing of aggregate, concrete, and asphalt materials to ensure compliance with federal, state, and/or customer specifications.

Main Responsibilities

• Safely collect samples for testing and adhere to established test procedures for aggregate and asphalt materials.
• Read, understand, and apply the basic specifications, principles, and products associated with the construction/aggregate/concrete industry.
• Identify and address quality control issues promptly.
• Inspect products for quality and take corrective actions as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
• Keep certifications and qualifications current through seminars, meetings, testing, etc.
• Ensure all quality control activities comply with company policies, regulatory agencies, and acceptable practices.
• Implement strategies to enhance quality control methods, equipment, performance, service, safety, and product quality.
• Report accurate test results daily and on time.
• Analyze test results to verify conformity with product specifications as required.

Skills

• Knowledge of concrete and aggregate quality control data (preferred)
• Experience with various concrete and aggregate lab equipment
• Strong ability to handle large volumes of numerical data
• Excellent attention to detail
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Computer and software skills
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Physical Requirements

• Pass drug screening and physical abilities test
• Able to lift or move up to 50 pounds
• Able to stand, walk, sit, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
• Able to work in wet and/or dry conditions and extreme temperatures
