Job Summary
Aid in the testing of aggregate, concrete, and asphalt materials to ensure compliance with federal, state, and/or customer specifications.
Main Responsibilities
- Safely collect samples for testing and adhere to established test procedures for aggregate and asphalt materials.
- Read, understand, and apply the basic specifications, principles, and products associated with the construction/aggregate/concrete industry.
- Identify and address quality control issues promptly.
- Inspect products for quality and take corrective actions as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
- Keep certifications and qualifications current through seminars, meetings, testing, etc.
- Ensure all quality control activities comply with company policies, regulatory agencies, and acceptable practices.
- Implement strategies to enhance quality control methods, equipment, performance, service, safety, and product quality.
- Report accurate test results daily and on time.
- Analyze test results to verify conformity with product specifications as required.
Skills
- Knowledge of concrete and aggregate quality control data (preferred)
- Experience with various concrete and aggregate lab equipment
- Strong ability to handle large volumes of numerical data
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Computer and software skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Physical Requirements
- Pass drug screening and physical abilities test
- Able to lift or move up to 50 pounds
- Able to stand, walk, sit, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
- Able to work in wet and/or dry conditions and extreme temperatures
