Responsibilities
- Perform routine and unscheduled maintenance and repair of commercial systems including air-cooled chillers, centrifugal chillers, pumps, cooling towers, air handler units, valves, fan coil units, and variable air volume systems
- Diagnose and repair machine and equipment defects, including electronic, mechanical, and electrical components related to HVAC systems
- Inspect and test system components to ensure proper operation, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards
- Conduct preventive maintenance, repair, installation, general servicing, and troubleshooting of mechanical HVAC systems
- Assist in installing, retrofitting, and commissioning commercial chiller systems and related HVAC equipment
- Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to assess and repair HVAC systems
- Service, troubleshoot, and repair commercial/industrial chiller and refrigeration equipment
- Demonstrate knowledge of electrical components, timers, contactors, and relays
- Adhere to safety protocols and comply with regulatory requirements related to HVAC and refrigeration systems
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through direct, on-site customer interaction
- Provide technical guidance and recommendations to clients regarding maintenance schedules, energy efficiency, and system improvements
- Prepare and present detailed service reports to customers
- Engage in continual learning and development through FirstCall Academy to maintain industry-leading skill levels
- Deliver elite customer service to ensure FirstCall remains the preferred choice for HVAC needs
- Mentor and lead helpers and entry-level technicians
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Active EPA Certification
- 5+ years of experience in a commercial HVAC setting with chillers
- OSHA 10 certification
- Technical training in HVAC or refrigeration
- Available to work flexible hours and on-call shifts as needed
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

- Language Skills: Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions, correspondence, and memos. Effectively communicate with customers and account managers, explaining problems and resolutions clearly.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic arithmetic, compute rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret graphs.
- Reasoning Ability: Apply common sense to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form. Handle problems involving multiple variables in standardized situations. Strong problem-solving and prioritization skills.
