Responsibilities

• Perform routine and unscheduled maintenance and repair of commercial systems including air-cooled chillers, centrifugal chillers, pumps, cooling towers, air handler units, valves, fan coil units, and variable air volume systems
• Diagnose and repair machine and equipment defects, including electronic, mechanical, and electrical components related to HVAC systems
• Inspect and test system components to ensure proper operation, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards
• Conduct preventive maintenance, repair, installation, general servicing, and troubleshooting of mechanical HVAC systems
• Assist in installing, retrofitting, and commissioning commercial chiller systems and related HVAC equipment
• Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to assess and repair HVAC systems
• Service, troubleshoot, and repair commercial/industrial chiller and refrigeration equipment
• Demonstrate knowledge of electrical components, timers, contactors, and relays
• Adhere to safety protocols and comply with regulatory requirements related to HVAC and refrigeration systems
• Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through direct, on-site customer interaction
• Provide technical guidance and recommendations to clients regarding maintenance schedules, energy efficiency, and system improvements
• Prepare and present detailed service reports to customers
• Engage in continual learning and development through FirstCall Academy to maintain industry-leading skill levels
• Deliver elite customer service to ensure FirstCall remains the preferred choice for HVAC needs
• Mentor and lead helpers and entry-level technicians

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
• Active EPA Certification
• 5+ years of experience in a commercial HVAC setting with chillers
• OSHA 10 certification
• Technical training in HVAC or refrigeration
• Available to work flexible hours and on-call shifts as needed
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

• Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic arithmetic, compute rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret graphs.
