Title: Seasonal Youth Development State Fair & State Shoot (continuous posting)
Classification: 0003 Seasonal/Fair, limited to 67 days per calendar year if working over 14 hours/week
Appointment: Temporary, Hourly/Time card position, 0-40+ hours per week
Pay Range: Depending on education, qualifications, experience, and position type:
- State Shoot Grounds Coordinator: $17.75-$21 an hour
- 4-H State Fair - Facilities Coordinator: $15.25-$16.18 an hour
- 4-H State Fair - Livestock Coordinator: $15.25-$16.18 an hour
About the Positions
This is a continuous posting for the Extension Department of Youth Development. This posting is for roles like 4-H State Shoot Grounds Coordinator, State Fair Coordinators, and similar roles, assisting current Directors and the department to fulfill its goals and responsibilities. These roles provide flexible, high-impact assistance across key programming, administrative and logistical functions of the department. The primary purpose of these positions is to support program and administrative functions. These positions are not eligible for overtime, and hours are worked mainly at the State Fair or State Shoot location.

Qualifications
Additional Requirements/Working Conditions for All Positions:
- A willingness to become familiar with and work within the philosophy and guidelines of University of Minnesota Extension and the Minnesota 4-H program.
- Must complete all required training, including but not limited to Safety of Minors and Civil Rights training
- Ability to work evenings and weekends
- Valid driver’s license and own means of transportation with required liability insurance. Mileage reimbursement provided in accordance with University policy.
- Must have the ability to lift, carry, pull, and push 20 pounds (or more if noted in specific job description)
- Must be able to stand for 90 minutes at a time or sit for 90 minutes at a time. Some days will require hours of standing or sitting
- Must complete University of Minnesota payroll paperwork, including completing an in-person I-9 (identification verification process), and have a successful completion of a background check with motor vehicle record review before the first day of work.
