About the role
This is a seasonal Member Care Representative role at TRANZACT, ending around December 2026 or early 2027 based on performance. It's not a typical customer service role but rather one that supports members, especially those over 65, in navigating complex health insurance decisions.
Responsibilities
- Handle inbound and outbound calls lasting 15–30 minutes
- Support members in understanding and confirming insurance application details
- Communicate clearly, calmly, and compassionately, especially with older adults
- Follow required scripts and compliance guidelines while sounding conversational
- Protect sensitive Personal Health Information (PHI) at all times
- Take ownership of each interaction to ensure members fully understand next steps
Requirements
- Comfort supporting customers who may feel anxious or confused
- Empathy, patience, and professionalism throughout long or consecutive calls
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to structured tools and systems
- Integrity and respect for confidentiality
Schedule & Work Environment
- Full-time, 8-hour shifts
- Shifts between 8:00 am – 11:00 pm ET
- Your most likely shift will be 12p-8:30pm EST
- Weekend availability required (at least one weekend day)
- 100% remote with a private, quiet workspace
- Hard-wired high-speed internet required
What You Bring
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- One to two years of customer service experience (phone-based preferred)
- Clear and professional phone communication skills
- Comfort using multiple computer systems
- Ability to stay focused and engaged during high call volume
