Seasonal Site Safety Representative

About the role

The Seasonal Site Safety Representative for Roofing ensures professional health, safety, and environmental practices at project sites. This position provides an on-the-roof presence to work alongside project personnel, ensuring successful implementation and compliance with the Niles EHS management system.

Responsibilities

• On-site safety presence to oversee project safety throughout the project life cycle.
• Technical support for Project Managers and Operations.
• Ensure compliance with project safety plans.
• Delivery of the morning daily safety engagement and end-of-day safety debrief.
• Conduct daily safety audits to ensure compliance.
• Implement immediate corrective actions when deficiencies are found.
• Inspect flag lines and fall rescue equipment at the start of each day.
• Pre-start inspection of generators, compressors, and other fixed equipment, including documentation.
• Perform spotter duties.
• Manage hazardous chemical storage and inspections, including labeling unmarked containers.
• Conduct hazard assessments, identifying and addressing unsafe conditions and behaviors.
• Conduct safety orientations for new employees and subcontractors, ensuring they are signed onto project documentation.
• Provide on-site safety training for roofing employees.
• Report accidents and injuries and assist with investigations.
• Build meaningful and lasting relationships with customers, project managers, and project teams.

Requirements

• Commercial/Industrial construction experience or any construction safety experience (favorable but not required).
• Experience in automotive or commercial roofing (favorable).
• Willingness to travel pending project location and point of hire.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred or willingness to complete.
