This is a great opportunity to come in as a Sewing Machine Operator (Sewist) in a fast-growing, luxury apparel company during our busy holiday season. We are a fast-growing luxury sleepwear company with a warehouse located in Richmond, VA.

Responsibilities

• Operate commercial sewing machines in an efficient manner
• Set up sewing machines and select the thread and fabric that will be used for each job
• Use an industrial iron and steamer
• Exceptional quality control of product before and after production
• Able to achieve reasonable production output based on daily mix of production (pocket removal and replacement)
• Balance multiple projects without sacrificing efficiency
• Exceptional attention to detail while using rulers, seam rippers, pins, and other sewing equipment

Requirements

• At least 1 full year's experience as an experienced sewing machine operator
• Must have previous experience working in high-capacity sewing roles

Qualifications

• Effective written and verbal communication and the ability to communicate regularly and professionally with other teams
• Ability to work with multiple types of fabrics and patterns
• Must be detail oriented and meticulous
• Must be dependable and have reliable transportation
• Must be able to work unsupervised

Pay

Starting pay: $20/hour. Shift differential: +$1.00/hour if hired for 2nd shift.

Schedule

This is a temporary, seasonal position through the end of December. Overtime will be required during the weekend of Black Friday into Cyber Monday, with potential for other weekend dates through peak. This seasonal position is not eligible for holiday pay, paid time off, or other company benefits.
