Seasonal Service Assistant - Grand Rapids, MI ( December- April)
About the role
InstroTek, Inc. is a leader in innovative products and technology for the construction materials testing industry. Our equipment is trusted around the world to accurately and reliably measure and test construction materials.
We are seeking a Seasonal Technician to support our Grand Rapids, Michigan location during our busy season from December to around March. This is a full-time hourly opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in accuracy, and wants to gain valuable experience in a technical environment.
Responsibilities
- Pack parts, components, and testing equipment for shipment
- Interact with customers via phone and in person when receiving test equipment
- Process equipment into our ERA system with detailed tracking
- Clean and label Type A shipping cases according to DOT specifications
- Disassemble nuclear density gauges down to the component level
- Clean nuclear density gauges using hand tools and solvents
- Read, check, and verify equipment numbers and records
- Follow written and verbal instructions accurately
- Manage multiple tasks while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines
Requirements
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent punctuality and time-management skills
- Ability to multitask and stay organized
- Ability to receive, process, and track testing equipment
- Comfort reading and verifying numbers and identifying information
- Experience using common hand tools
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Basic computer skills
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods
- Ability to use hands to finger, handle, and feel objects or controls
- Ability to reach with hands and arms
- Regularly stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch
- Ability to communicate effectively in person and by telephone
