Seasonal Security Officer

Responsibilities

• Provides basic security coverage ensuring adequate protection for safety and assets.
• Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time, able to climb steps, respond to emergency situations, and handle basic duties and responsibilities of the position.
• Maintain the safety and security of the entire outside property of the Casino, protecting guests, team members, and company assets.
• Monitor, secure and report all suspicious activity within the barns, grandstands, parking control, stable gate, paddock, winners circle, and escort assignment areas.
• Provide guest service, secure the facility for ending the business day, and maintain for security & overall operational needs.
• Escort and observe for veterinarians administering treatment to the animals.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Must be 19 years of age or older.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language.
• HS Diploma or GED required, previous security experience preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills including tact when dealing with difficult customers.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Must present a well-groomed appearance.
• Must possess a valid Driver’s License with fewer than three moving violations in the past 36 months.
• Must be able to maintain extremely confidential information.
• General familiarity with investigative procedures.
• Ability to respond calmly and make rational decisions in stressful situations with co-workers, guests, and vendors.
• Ability to compose clear, accurate, and concise reports.
• Must be able to listen and respond to visual and aural cues.
• Flexible to work various shifts to include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to push and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to be CPR Certified.
• Ability to lift and carry objects up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to bend, stoop, twist, reach, and kneel repetitively.
• Must be able to work from a standing position and/or walking motion for extended period.
• Must have manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment.
• Able to simultaneously manage several projects.
• Must be able to work in an environment subject to variable temperatures, bright flashing lights, and loud noise.
