Seasonal Recreation Program Assistant

About the role

A seasonal Recreation Program Assistant position is available at the Apple Valley Community Center in Apple Valley, MN. The position runs from June 8, 2026, to August 21, 2026, with three possible shifts per week.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Program Leaders in planning and implementing weekly playground activities.
• Provide leadership and support during the execution of playground activities.
• Motivate participants to achieve a quality, active, enthusiastic, and rewarding program.
• Assist in the supervision and organization of scheduled special events.
• Attend and participate in all staff meetings.
• Maintain a safe environment for all activities.
• Recommend necessary supplies and equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• At least 16 years of age.
• Able to provide own transportation.
• Demonstrated teamwork and leadership skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to lift/pull/push/move/carry up to 50 lbs, and the ability to bend, stand, and reach.

Additional Information

This is a seasonal position. The rate of pay is dependent on qualifications. The schedule includes three shifts per week: 7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., 12:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m., and 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Shifts may vary, and you will need to work both day and evening hours on July 4th.

Pay and Schedule

The position pays $14.30 hourly, and the schedule runs from June 8, 2026, to August 21, 2026.
