Seasonal Production Associate - 3rd Shift

Pay

The hourly rate for this position at Scotts will be $21.00 per hour and is paid weekly. Scotts will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.

Responsibilities

• Perform a safety check of the equipment to ensure it is safe to operate
• Perform daily assignments as directed by team Group Leader or Supervisor
• Actively maintain good housekeeping standards in assigned area
• Safely operate a forklift to transport materials
• Ensure stocks of needed materials are ready and available at all times
• Learn multiple pieces of automated equipment and flexibility to move to different work stations daily
• Effectively communicate and relay information to peers and/or supervisors concerning the performance of the production line as it pertains to the assembly, operation and performance of the line
• Perform various manufacturing inspection protocols to ensure plant quality standards on granular packaging products and display units
• Adhere to plant safety rules and programs as it pertains to self and all other associates

Requirements

• Position entails prolonged and repetitive motion of standing, twisting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, bending, climbing, reaching overhead and arms/hands dexterity
• Ability to drive a forklift
• Ability to climb on and off of required equipment
• Ability to climb multiple flights of stairs and meet man-lift requirements
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to read and write English and/or be able to follow instructions
• Must pass the minimum fit for duty physical (annually)
• Willingness to work mandatory overtime including weekends and holidays
• Able to work in a dusty hot/cold/humid environment, able to lift 50 pounds, and be on feet for 8-12 hours a day
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of one plus years of production plant experience preferred
• Basic math skills, mechanical aptitude, ability to make decisions regarding equipment adjustments to meet product specifications and quality conformity
• Must be a team player and promote teamwork amongst production lines, departments and shifts
