Responsibilities
- Aid in the setup, organization, and dismantling of banquets, events, restaurant, and bar spaces.
- Collaborate with the Front of House team to ensure smooth service.
- Offer menu recommendations and address guest inquiries.
- Transport food, beverages, liquor, kegs, and other bar-related items between storage and service areas.
- Supervise supply replenishment during events and throughout the workday.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in dining areas, storage areas, bars, and kitchen areas.
- Support servers and bartenders as needed.
- Assist in setting up and breaking down dining areas, bars, and kitchen areas.
- Show proficiency in all food and beverage menus.
- Participate in cleaning and clearing projects, including floor cleaning, surface cleaning, and trash removal nightly.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by supervisors or managers.
- Demonstrate excellent teamwork with other food and beverage associates.
- Communicate positively and promptly regarding guest needs and concerns.
Qualifications
- Outstanding guest service skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Strength in lifting, carrying, and pushing heavy items, including banquet tables and chairs.
- Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
- Attention to detail in setting up event spaces according to specifications.
- Flexibility to work in fast-paced environments.
- Willingness to adapt to various roles and business needs.
- Flexible work schedule, including availability for days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be 19 years of age or older.
- Must hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be STAR certified.
- Must be Food Handlers certified.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English.
- Must be able to work in close quarters with others.
- Able to lift and carry 20 pounds routinely, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Able to stand, sit, walk, squat, reach, and lean during work.
- Previous experience as a bar back or hotel houseman in a hotel or restaurant setting is preferred.
