Seasonal Parks & Golf Course Maintenance

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Aid with routine maintenance and upkeep of City parks and golf course grounds.
• Plant, maintain, and care for trees, flowers, and landscaped areas.
• Mow, trim, edge, and maintain turf areas.
• Perform renovation and improvement tasks as directed.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and light machinery, including mowers, weed eaters, and blowers.
• Assist with basic mechanical and maintenance tasks as needed.
• Collect trash and debris to maintain clean and safe facilities.
• Prepare and paint park and golf course facilities as assigned.
• Provide courteous and professional customer service to the public and coworkers.
• Report to work on time and maintain dependable attendance.

Job Requirements & Skills

• Basic understanding of general maintenance practices.
• Ability to operate lawn care equipment and light machinery safely.
• Basic knowledge of light construction, plumbing, electrical, and general building repair.
• Ability to problem-solve and follow instructions.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to interact positively with coworkers and the public.

Preferred Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience operating lawn and grounds maintenance equipment.

Physical Effort & Work Environment

• Work is performed in indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to extreme heat and cold.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Ability to push, pull, carry, and lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
• Ability to see, hear, read, and perform tasks requiring hand and arm movement.
