About the Role
The Seasonal Packaging Line Operator (PLO) completes various tasks vital to the distribution packaging function. This entry-level, temporary seasonal position is physically fast-paced and requires technological aptitude, adaptability, and flexibility. The PLO operates can-filling machinery, keg-filling machinery, packaging machinery, and performs other general packaging tasks while maintaining consistency, timeliness, and the high quality Devils Backbone is known for. This role typically works under close supervision and is not eligible for company benefits.
Responsibilities
- Works closely with the Packaging Supervisor, Warehouse Manager, and other team members to ensure smooth operation of packaging machinery and equipment.
- Operate high-speed packaging equipment—kegging and canning.
- Performs daily start-up and clean-up procedures on all assigned packaging stations.
- Uphold a food-safe environment through quality and sanitation.
- Works with maintenance employees/personnel to assist with equipment problems and troubleshooting.
- Performs daily basic maintenance for machinery.
- Assists in the production records management.
- Works to achieve packaging/distribution short- and long-term goals and metrics.
- Adheres to all safety precautions, rules, and guidelines.
- Routinely uses a computer for accessing email, company communication platforms, SDS safety sheets, SOPs, and other job or company-related information.
- May stack and palletize finished product and prepare for cold-room storage.
- May use a computer to access SDS safety sheets/protocols and interpret them into actions.
- Involves frequent walking, lifting, and carrying objects weighing 32 lbs routinely throughout a shift.
- Must be able to maneuver 200 lbs kegs from filler to pallet.
- Frequent use of hand/eye coordination and manipulation of cardboard boxes, packing tape, machinery, etc.
- Ability to multi-task effectively.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School degree or equivalent required.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Production/manufacturing/mechanical experience strongly preferred.
- Previous manufacturing experience in the food and/or beverage industry preferred.
- Knowledge and a passion for craft beer.
- Ability to work autonomously and within a teamwork environment.
- General knowledge of occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions associated with work.
- Ability to interpret technical bulletins and schematics on equipment related to work.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to distinguish color for safety signs.
Pay
$23.05 per hour.
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM.
