Seasonal Overnight Student Chaperone: College Park, MD (Fall 2026 and Spring 2027)

About the role

Night Chaperones monitor student conduct, respond to emergencies, and report suspicious activity on assigned hotel floors during nighttime hours (9:45 PM to 5:00 AM). Team Members ensure student safety and a high-quality experience while collaborating with the Night Chaperone Coordinator and Onsite Coordinator.

Responsibilities

• Treat customers, vendors, and fellow employees with honesty, respect, and professionalism.
• Provide the highest level of safety for all participants while they are on tour.
• Actively monitor assigned hotel floors from 9:45 PM to 5:00 AM. (required)
• Present a professional image—remain courteous, positive, and helpful.
• Follow proper procedure while working on assigned floors, including checking in/out of the hotel, introducing yourself to Program Leaders, and adhering to escalation protocols.
• Maintain a professional relationship with students at all times. (required)

Requirements

• Availability in October and November, and in the spring from February–June, during peak season. (required)
• Willingness to commute to on-site locations in the College Park, MD area.
• Ability to work well with students, teachers, vendors, and WorldStrides staff as a team player.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Word and Excel), email, and smartphone use.
• Sensory skills (seeing, reading, talking, and hearing) to effectively communicate and interact with others. (required)
• Ability to perform physical requirements, including walking up and down numerous flights of stairs, with or without reasonable accommodation. (required)
• Successful completion of applicable background screening. (required)

Pay

Maryland Pay Range: $18 USD per hour (part-time roles will be prorated based on agreed-upon hours).
