About the role
Seasonal Operations Specialist position in Calvin, ND, running from ASAP through the end of November.
Schedule
Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (weekends as needed).
Responsibilities
- Load and unload grain products and agricultural inputs from trucks and railcars using heavy or light-duty machinery.
- Prepare trucks and railcars for loading/unloading: sample product, open hatches, attach/detach hoses, and loosen large nuts.
- Operate automated scale/dump systems and control all load-out functions.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks: lubricate pumps, valves, and loading arms; inspect equipment for leaks; record tasks.
- Monitor and maintain inventory quality (bulk, blended, or packaged product).
- Deliver fertilizer, chemical, seed, feed, and other products to customer sites.
- Perform warehouse duties: drive loader, operate forklift, load/unload inventory, and general maintenance.
- Keep work areas clean and safe: sweep, shovel, power-wash, scrape, clean spills, and remove snow.
- Perform grounds maintenance and complete all required record-keeping.
- Report customer complaints, repair needs, safety concerns, and workplace hazards promptly.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations; promote a strong safety culture.
- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure smooth facility operations and excellent customer service.
Requirements
- Must meet minimum age requirement.
- 1+ years of experience in Operations and/or Business Operations.
- Ability to operate machinery such as loaders, conveyors, tractors, and track mobile.
- Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons.
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- CDL license or ability to attain one with Hazmat endorsement preferred.
- Agriculture experience preferred.
- Forklift certification preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 75 pounds.
- Ability to climb rail cars, ladders, stairs, and bins.
- Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures.
