Seasonal Interpretive Guide - Tenkiller State Park

About the Role

Interpretive Guides facilitate educational programming, serve as guides for areas of interest within Tenkiller State Park, and maintain facility standards. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and physical labor in both indoor and outdoor environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead guided hikes or other outdoor activities.
• Deliver educational programming.
• Plan and lead arts and crafts activities.
• Perform trail and animal enclosure upkeep, including repairs and cleaning.
• Assist with routine groundskeeping and facility organization around the Nature Center.
• Greet and assist visitors with professionalism and courtesy.
• Engage with guests in informed interpretation.
• Assist in event setup and takedown.
• Complete daily opening and closing duties for the Nature Center.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support daily operations and agency needs.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Ability to lead walking tours and navigate trails, including regular bending, stooping, and carrying items up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions.
• Scheduled hours require flexibility, including holidays, weekends, or events, based on agency needs.
• Some locations may require a valid Driver’s License.

Pay

This position pays $14.00 per hour.
