Seasonal Interpretative Guide - Sequoyah State Park

Basic Purpose

Interpretative Guides facilitate educational programming, serve as guides for areas of interest within a state park or other tourism location, and maintain facility standards.

Typical Job Duties

• Lead guided hikes or other outdoor activities.
• Deliver educational programming.
• Plan and lead arts and crafts activities.
• Perform trail, and animal enclosure upkeep, including repairs and cleaning.
• Aid in routine groundskeeping and facility organization around Nature Center.
• Greet and assist visitors with professionalism and courtesy.
• Engage with guests in informed interpretation.
• Aid in event setup and takedown.
• Complete daily opening and closing duties for Nature Center.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support daily operations and agency needs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Physical requirements include the ability to lead walking tours and navigate trails, regular bending, stooping, and carrying items up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions.

Special Requirements

• Scheduled hours will require flexibility, including holidays, weekends, or events, based on the needs of the agency.
• Some locations may require a valid Driver’s License.
