About the role
The State Park Commission (now the Division of Parks and Recreation) began managing the land as Indian River State Park in 1965, but it didn't become Delaware Seashore State Park until 1967.
Responsibilities
- Campground Registrar: responsible for all aspects of camp registration, database entry.
- Campground Store Attendant: responsible for all aspects of camp store operations; point-of-sale cash register duty, stocking shelves.
- Revenue Attendant (Fee Collector): responsible for welcoming park visitors, disseminating information, and collecting and accounting for park entrance fees.
- Custodial: responsible for the custodial cleaning of bathrooms, facilities, and offices.
- Grounds & Maintenance: responsible for the maintenance of grounds, facilities, and equipment in the park.
- Beach Accessories Rental Attendant (Umbrella Stand Attendant): responsible for renting beach umbrellas and chairs to park visitors; accounting for rentals and inventory.
Requirements
- Revenue Attendant/Campground Store Attendant: Knowledge of working with money and making change, knowledge of math such as addition and subtraction, knowledge of customer service.
- Campground Registrar: Six months customer service experience, six months experience in cash handling and writing receipts, six months experience in standard computer software programs for word processing, spreadsheets, or databases.
- Maintenance - Custodial/Grounds: Must be at least 18 years of age, experience using landscaping equipment and hand or power tools (Grounds only), possession of a valid driver's license (not suspended, revoked, or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).
- Beach Accessories Rental Attendant: Work outdoors, six months experience in cash handling, six months customer service experience, ability to carry and install beach umbrellas and chairs for visitors.
Qualifications
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- A satisfactory criminal background check is required as a condition of hire.
- You must possess a valid driver's license (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).
Benefits
This is a Casual/Seasonal position which is a non-pension eligible position without healthcare and/or other benefits.
