Seasonal Grain Scale Operator
About the role
The Grain Scale Operator handles scale operations, customer service, communications, clerical tasks, basic grain accounting, and other assigned duties. Responsibilities include managing inbound and outbound commodity tasks, assisting with grain grading and sampling, and representing the company professionally.
Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding customer service when greeting and servicing customers.
- Manage inbound and outbound grain shipments for customers at the truck scale.
- Grade grain and identify foreign materials.
- Record test data such as weights, temperatures, grades, moisture content, and quantities inspected or graded.
- Perform record-keeping for truck weighing and accurate grading activities.
- Coordinate delivery numbers, daily inputs, and verify accuracy.
- Operate on-scale interface systems and transfer data.
- Respond to customer inquiries at the counter.
- Assist with other office functions as needed.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to talk or hear.
- Frequently required to stand (95% of the time), walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
Schedule
This is a full-time seasonal position. Typical workdays are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4 p.m., with additional mandatory hours during peak seasons.
