About the role
Under the direction of the location manager, this position is responsible for elevator operations including grain handling, safety and maintenance, and running the grain drying system at a leading grain company with 19 facilities and 40 million bushels of storage capacity in Northern Illinois.
Responsibilities
- Handle grain operations including incoming, stored, and outgoing grain.
- Maintain grain quality, blending, and provide grain drying services.
- Ensure housekeeping related to grain handling.
- Comply with OSHA, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Maintain professional appearance of equipment, rolling stock, and facilities.
- Provide professional customer service for a pleasant customer experience.
- Maintain company equipment according to company standards.
- Adhere to the company Uniform Policy and maintain appropriate professional image.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma and/or experience in a related agricultural field.
- Proven ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Willingness to learn grain handling.
- Experience with mechanical diagnosis, service, repairs, maintenance, and upkeep of equipment and vehicles.
- Basic computer skills to enhance grain handling.
- Valid driver’s license with ability to travel independently and overnight when necessary.
- Ability to work extended hours and on-call as business conditions warrant.
Working Conditions
- Occasionally exposed to extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.).
- Noisy conditions.
- Exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures.
- Work at varying heights including climbs on grain bins and legs.
- Lift 51 - 70 lbs.

Pay
$17.50 - $18.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. Certain roles may be eligible for bonuses, incentives, and commissions.
