Seasonal position from July 20, 2026 to October 31, 2026 (four months). Flexible 40-hour work schedule spanning Sunday through Saturday, including weekends and evenings. Hours subject to change based on event scheduling needs.
About the role
Performs various duties related to the planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and monitoring the utilization of the Duchesne County Centennial Building. Includes labor-intensive tasks such as moving panels, animal facility clean-up, dirt prep for major events, and custodial work. Operates heavy equipment like tractors and assists the Duchesne County Event Center and Fair Grounds Director.
Responsibilities
- Set up and maintain the fairgrounds, arena, facilities, restrooms, and common areas.
- Prepare and maintain the events center for professional organizations, cutter associations, 4-H clubs, rodeo organizations, state athletic associations, soccer, and dance groups.
- Perform cleaning and maintenance upkeep.
- Prepare arena dirt for barrel racing, roping, and other rodeo events.
- Provide venue oversight during events such as weddings and conferences.
- Carry out ancillary tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Current and valid Utah Driver License.
- Must successfully pass a criminal background investigation and pre-employment drug screening.

Physical Requirements
- Routine walking, standing, bending, and carrying items up to 100 pounds with or without assistance.
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Operation of a motor vehicle and equipment.
Work Environment
- Exposure to hazards related to animals, mechanical equipment, and chemicals.
- Outdoor work with exposure to heat, cold, and inclement weather.
- Indoor arena work with humid and dusty conditions.
- Office setting under fluorescent lighting, which may cause minimal eye strain.
- Moderate noise levels, which may become excessive during events.
