Seasonal Energy Assistance Intake Worker

Tri-CAP is looking for a professional, customer-focused Seasonal Energy Assistance Intake Worker to join our Community Development team. This is your chance to make a real impact on people's lives while working in a supportive, fun environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide polite, clear, and friendly customer service over the phone to all participants, including answering questions, giving status updates, obtaining information for application processing, and providing referrals to community resources
• Process applications, including crisis applications as requested
• Maintain and monitor household information files
• Assist customers in completion of applications as necessary
• Assist Energy Assistance team with the emergency after-hours phone for crisis deliveries and Emergency Repair or Replacement events

Qualifications

• High school equivalency and one (1) year of human services related experience
• Knowledge of community resources serving low-income populations
• Ability to work with diverse populations
• Ability to work well independently and stay on task

Skills

• Strong communication skills with ability to handle high call volume
• Strong office skills and computer proficiency – ability to use Microsoft Office, email, and other basic computer skills; data entry skills and ability to use a desktop scanner
• Strong attention to detail; ability to prioritize and adapt with changing needs
• Customer service mindset – willingness to work in a fast-paced setting, assisting clients from a variety of backgrounds
