Seasonal - DFM Administrative Support
Seasonal administrative support positions (two openings) in the Division of the Fire Marshal, Colorado Springs Fire Department. These are at-will roles with benefits limited to Worker’s Compensation, Medicare, Unemployment Insurance, and PERA (Public Employees’ Retirement Association). Positions are subject to budget-required furloughs in 2026.
About the role
Perform a variety of administrative support, record keeping, and clerical accounting duties in a small, collaborative team environment. Work is detail-oriented and supports the daily operations of the Division of the Fire Marshal.
Schedule
Monday – Friday, 7:30 am – 4:30 pm (in-office presence required). Position runs from date of hire through December 31, 2026.
Location
Fire Department Complex, 375 Printers Parkway, Colorado Springs, CO 80910.
Responsibilities
- Data entry and updates in various division programs and databases
- Quality assurance functions for inspection reports
- Issuance and tracking of annual and provisional permits
- Filing and file/information research and retrievals for open records requests
- Division collections processes
- Migration of paper and electronic records to new platforms/locations
- Provide information and assistance to DFM customers and the public
- Support team operations and other duties as assigned

Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Two (2) years of full-time, professional experience in clerical, administrative, or office support role
Each year of further education is considered equivalent to each year of relevant work experience, and vice versa.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with permit requirements and compliance
- Proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience navigating Power BI dashboards
Pay
$15.16 – $27.03 hourly.
