Responsibilities
- Operate string extruders and string cutters in the production area.
- Maintain high food-quality and food-safety standards.
- Operate RDS System and brine flume to maintain temperature and salinity.
- Report brine system, string extruders, and brine chiller issues to production and maintenance departments.
- Set up and inspect work area for cleanliness and readiness.
- Operate string cutters and frequently monitor extruded cheese to ensure proper weight and length specifications.
- Maintain and document daily cutter operations log.
- Communicate with packaging department about products and product flow.
- Communicate with production about products, product flow, product quality, and/or concerns.
- Communicate with lab tech to maintain proper product size.
- Work with sanitation to disassemble mixers, mixer pipes, string extruders, and store end-of-day product.
- Add salt to the brine system.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED/HSED required; minimally enrolled with anticipated completion in 12 months or less.
- Prior manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Willingness to complete forklift certification upon hire.
- Ability to learn and carry out lock-out/tag-out procedures as required.
- Ability to occasionally lift 10–80 lbs.
