2nd Shift Hours 5:00am-1:00pm, Monday-Friday / Weekends as Needed
Responsibilities
- Operate string extruders and string cutters in production area while maintaining high food quality and food safety standards.
- Operate RDS System and brine flume to maintain temperature and salinity.
- Report brine system, string extruders, and brine chiller issues to production and maintenance departments.
- Set-up and inspect work area for cleanliness and readiness.
- Operate string cutters and frequently monitor extruded cheese to ensure proper weight and length specifications.
- Maintain and document daily cutter operations log.
- Communicate with packaging department about products and product flow.
- Communicate with production about products, product flow, product quality, and/or concerns.
- Communicate with lab tech to maintain proper product size.
- Work with sanitation to disassemble mixers, mixer pipes, string extruders, and store end-of-the-day product.
- Add salt to the brine system.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED/HSED) required, or minimally enrolled with anticipated completion in 12 months or less.
- Prior manufacturing and/or food industry experience is preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment
- Refrigerated food production facility; ability to work in a cold environment is necessary.
- Machinery, moving mechanical parts, and robotics are used during production, creating a loud work environment.
- During sanitation work, exposure to wet, humid, damp conditions may occur.
