Seasonal Custodian
About the role
The Union County Facilities Department is seeking summer/seasonal Custodians to support their operations. Hours are flexible and will be discussed during the interview process.
Responsibilities
- Cleans assigned area of County facilities and grounds as needed
- Secures County facilities (unlocks and locks buildings)
- Gathers and disposes of trash
- Vacuums and cleans County vehicles
- Maintains required licenses and certifications
- Maintains job safety and safety standards
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Completion of secondary education or equivalent
- Experience in commercial cleaning and maintenance preferred
- Must be trustworthy, dependable, and reliable
- Pass a comprehensive pre-employment background investigation
- Valid Ohio driver's license and insurability under the County's vehicle insurance policy

- Knowledge of County, Department, and Division goals and objectives
- Knowledge of County, Department, and Division policies and procedures
- Knowledge of personnel rules and regulations
- Knowledge of workplace safety practices and procedures
- Knowledge of grounds maintenance and repair
- Knowledge of custodial practices and procedures
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment and tools
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Benefits
This position is not eligible for insurance benefits. It is a non-exempt, hourly position that is eligible for overtime.
Pay
Hourly pay is determined based on the candidate's availability and qualifications. Specific details regarding pay rates will be discussed during the interview process.
Schedule
Work hours are Monday-Friday, 2:30pm-11:00pm. Candidates can indicate their interest in part-time or full-time hours during the interview process.
