About the role

The Seasonal Chef Instructor, Pastry will be responsible for teaching cooking classes focused on pastry techniques and skills to customers at Sur La Table stores.

Responsibilities

  • Teach hands-on cooking classes focusing on pastry techniques and skills
  • Engage and interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner
  • Ensure all classes are conducted safely and hygienically
  • Adapt classes to meet the needs and skill levels of different groups of customers

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a culinary setting
  • Strong knowledge of pastry techniques and ingredients
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

Qualifications

  • Valid Food Handler’s Permit
  • Pass a background check

Skills

  • Proficiency in pastry preparation and baking
  • Effective teaching and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
