Responsibilities
- Obtains/retains proper DOT commercial driver's license (CDL) and necessary certifications
- Maintains proper training certifications and annual updates
- Inspects vehicle and other equipment prior to and after use for safe operation
- Ensures vehicle has proper emergency/safety equipment and placards/signs for hazardous material transport
- Maintains correct drivers logs, shipping papers, and permits in compliance with regulations
- Records and maintains preventive maintenance and expense records for vehicle
- Buils and maintains positive working relationships with customers
- Assists warehouse/plant workers with various duties as assigned
- Trains seasonal employees in proper operation and maintenance of equipment
- Plans and directs loading/unloading of vehicle for optimal service and product transportation
Qualifications
- CDL Class A or B Driver's License with HAZMAT endorsement or willingness to obtain endorsement within a specified timeframe
- High School diploma or equivalent, preferred
- Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 100 pounds infrequently
- Must possess communication, reading, counting, and writing skills to complete documentation accurately
- Must be able to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays

- Sit and/or stand for extended periods
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 100 pounds infrequently
- Handle boxes of product and fixtures throughout the facility
Travel
Typical day trips driving commercial vehicles to and from pickup and drop-off locations. Overnight travel requirements are rare.
