About the role

The seasonal roles of R&R Camp Manager provide a quality experience for individuals with developmental disabilities (13 years and up) at a residential camping facility. The positions are available on a weekend basis.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the implementation of leisure opportunities such as team and individual sports, small and large group games, and arts and crafts.
  • Supervises staff and participants, including providing direct support like dressing, showering, toileting, eating, transferring, and communication.
  • Manages support staff by assisting with problem-solving, conflict resolution, communication with parents, and maintaining a clean and positive atmosphere when the Coordinator is not present.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 18 years old
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent (some college course work in special education, social work, occupational or recreation therapy, health and/or human services is helpful)
  • Three or more years of experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities or related camping experience
  • Reliable vehicle, with valid driver's license and auto insurance

Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to be flexible and calm in changing environments/plans and accept direction/corrections well
  • CPR/FA certification (provided by St. Louis Arc at no cost)

Pay

  • $575/weekend for Assistant Camp Manager
  • $625/weekend for Camp Manager

Schedule

  • Two weekends per month
