Responsibilities
- Crafting Beverages: Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes and guest preferences, ensuring accuracy and presentation.
- Menu Knowledge: Possess in-depth knowledge of our cocktail menu, beer selections, wine list, and any daily specials. Be able to make recommendations and answer guest questions confidently.
- Guest Engagement: Interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner, taking orders, offering suggestions, and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
- Order Taking & POS: Accurately ring in orders using our point-of-sale (POS) system, handle cash and credit card transactions efficiently, and maintain a balanced till.
- Bar Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area, including glassware, garnishes, and supplies. Adhere to all sanitation and safety regulations.
- Inventory Management: Assist with inventory checks, restocking bar supplies, and notifying management of any shortages.
- Responsible Alcohol Service: Serve alcohol responsibly and in accordance with all local and state laws, recognizing signs of intoxication and taking appropriate action.
- Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with servers, hosts, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth and efficient service throughout the restaurant.
- Upselling: Promote drink specials, appetizers, and other menu items to enhance the guest experience and increase sales.
- Problem Solving: Address guest concerns or complaints promptly and professionally, seeking assistance from management when necessary.
- Preparation: Prepare garnishes, mixers, and other bar ingredients as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Bartender in a high-volume restaurant or bar setting (minimum 1-2 years preferred).
- Excellent knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits.
- Strong mixology skills and a passion for creating quality beverages.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills with a positive and engaging personality.
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures.
- Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
- Must be of legal age to serve alcohol in Massachusetts.
- Certification in responsible alcohol service (e.g., TIPS) is required.
