Seasonal Banquet Server
About the Role
Cafeteria employees enable Church employees and temple patrons to focus on their most important work of bringing souls unto Jesus Christ by providing food services in a simple and affordable way. This is an on-call, temporary position.
Responsibilities
- Serves food to customers at tables
- Moves large trays containing plates of food or heavy steam table pans from kitchen area to tables
- Sets up and clears tables, carrying/moving dishes, silverware, and table supplies to and from kitchen
- Follows procedures for properly washing and storing dishes, pots, and pans
- Keeps areas stocked with clean dishes, silverware, pots, and pans
- Under the direction of supervisor, may prepare foods (salads, desserts, drinks, garnishes, condiments, etc.) and ensure they are displayed appropriately
- May assist in keeping food in lockers labeled, dated, rotated, and clean
- Maintains clean work areas
- May assist in other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School graduate
- Food service experience preferred but not required
- Must have food handler permit where required
- Good communication skills and common courtesy for dealing with others
- Ability to move and maneuver objects weighing up to 40 pounds
- Able to stay on feet for long periods of time
- May work under conditions of extreme heat or cold
- Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy
