Seasonal Associate, Sorter 2

About the Role

This position involves following established procedures and guidelines to receive, handle, store, record, and dispatch goods in a store or warehouse environment. Responsibilities include managing incoming and outgoing goods, maintaining accurate stock records, and performing routine clerical activities.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming goods, check for damage, and verify discrepancies between goods and invoices.
• Accurately sort, label, and store goods to optimize warehouse space.
• Pick, pack, and dispatch outgoing goods according to written or verbal requests or orders.
• Enter data into a database or computerized system to maintain up-to-date stock records and retrieve stored information for inquiries (e.g., inventory levels or delivery schedules).
• Perform routine clerical activities such as answering telephones, updating stock cards and inventory records, and completing receipt, transfer, delivery, and dispatch forms.
• Operate within a distribution center, handling tasks such as receiving, stocking, loading, unloading merchandise, picking, and operating heavy-duty equipment (e.g., pallet jacks or forklifts).

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent education; Associate’s degree preferred.
• One year of experience preferred.
• Basic reading, writing, and numeracy skills.
• Ability to follow simple instructions.
• No formal occupational training required; non-office roles may involve operating simple equipment under guidance.

Problem Solving

Problems encountered will be defined, repetitive, and routine with readily available solutions. Nonstandard problems will be referred to a supervisor or more experienced team member. Solutions are typically obvious or involve a finite number of clear-cut alternatives and can be applied immediately.

Interaction

Interaction is primarily limited to your own team with minimal requirement for internal or external contact. Basic verbal, numeracy, and literacy skills are required, along with common courtesy and politeness.

Impact

Supports the achievement of goals through personal effort in your own work area. Impact is limited to the delivery of your own tasks, managed on a day-to-day or task-by-task basis. Financial or business impact is typically immeasurable.

Accountability

Accountable for delivering your own tasks to agreed time and quality standards. Performance is measured frequently against predefined service level requirements or equivalent metrics. Typically, no awareness of cost and profitability is required.

Pay

$17.49 USD - $21.87 USD per hour.
