Seasonal Admissions Evaluator

We are hiring remote Seasonal Admissions Evaluators to assist our undergraduate processing team with student admission and record maintenance.

About the role

Seasonal Admissions Evaluators assist in all aspects of the student admission and record maintenance process, including evaluating academic transcripts, test scores, and other credentials. They prepare, verify, and enter data into computerized student information systems, manage student university records, and perform clerical activities to maintain student files. Evaluators work with the undergraduate admissions team to process applications for the current admissions cycle and correspond with campus partners, including students, parents, and other departments, to answer questions about admission policy and documentation.

This position is fully remote, though staff may be required to visit the University of Utah Main Campus in Salt Lake City, UT, at the start and end of employment to pick up or return equipment. A reliable private internet connection is required, and a university laptop will be provided for job functions. Onboarding and training will be conducted virtually via Zoom and Microsoft Teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist in evaluating undergraduate applications for all University of Utah campuses.
• Process credentials related to admissions.
• Monitor student academic files to ensure information is complete and updated by filling in information and changing records when applicable.
• Manage daily work responsibilities and recommend process improvements to supervisors.
• May be cross-trained in other areas and assigned to assist with special projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Three years of general office experience or equivalency (one year of education can substitute for two years of related work experience), including at least one year in an academic setting.
• Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
• Must reside in the state of Utah; out-of-state remote employment is not allowed.

Preferences

• Preference given to candidates familiar with the undergraduate admissions practices of the University of Utah.
• College coursework in a related area is preferred.

Schedule

• Part-time, seasonal position lasting 3 months (September 21, 2026 – December 21, 2026).
• 30 to 40 hours per week during regular office hours: Monday – Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.

Pay

• Pay rate: $14 – $16 per hour.
• First-year seasonal evaluators start at $14.00 per hour.
• Starting pay increases with each subsequent year of seasonal employment.
