SEAS Leisure Program Inclusion Counselor

About the Role

The Leisure Program Inclusion Counselor will ensure the safe and efficient operation of their assigned group of individuals or individual. They will utilize their experience working with individuals with special needs to assist in appropriate behavior in social settings, recreational activities, basic care, and skill development.

Responsibilities

• Lead, teach, and supervise participants in various recreational activities.
• Adapt activities to meet the individual needs of participants with developmental disabilities.
• Assess complex situations under pressure and respond professionally and appropriately.
• Maintain awareness of legal issues such as abuse, sexual harassment, and risk management.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Demonstrated knowledge of summer program planning.
• Flexibility and creativity in adapting to individual needs of participants.
• Strong character, integrity, and adaptability.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with individuals of diverse age groups, educational backgrounds, and abilities.

Qualifications

• Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, and self-control.

Schedule

• Must be available for orientation from June 23- June 26, 2026.
• Program operates from June 29th to August 14th, 2026.
• Staff hours primarily Monday to Friday from 7:45 AM to 4:45 PM.

Pay

$18.00 hourly
