Seamstress (Special Services)

What's the Short Version?

Special Services processes, packages, and ships specialized orders including product samples, corporate gifts, thank you cards, and customer product information packets.

What Will You Be Doing?

• Operate internal systems to store customer information
• Communicate with leadership and coworkers to process orders accurately and efficiently
• Accurately measure garments and operate a sewing machine for special orders
• Answer customer inquiries via phone, email, and in person
• Maintain accurate department records and research/enter errors for statistics
• Neatly fold and gift packages customer items
• Assemble color swatch samples and maintain inventory of swatch cards
• Safely operate swatch press, grommet punch, and paper cutter
• Communicate with corporate representatives for special services department supplies
• May communicate with account executives on professional levels
• May assist with employee inquiries and train staff
• Responsible for checking out and returning equipment in good condition

What Are We Looking For?

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read, write, identify colors, sizes, quantities, labels, and SKUs
• Demonstrated ability to follow directions and change priorities
• Excellent customer service history
• Excellent organization, multitasking, and prioritization skills
• Positive attitude and high energy level
• Ability to work efficiently and under pressure
• Ability to learn about SanMar’s product offerings and apparel decoration methods
• Able to maintain an excellent attendance and punctuality record
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

What Should You Expect?

• Stand, walk, talk, hear, lift up to 60 pounds, use both hands, reach, grasp, perform repetitive motions, climb stairs, kneel/squat, bend, carry, use peripheral vision, adjust focus, use basic literacy, and work near conveyor systems
• Work in a moderately noisy environment with potential hazards such as machinery like forklifts, pallet jacks, and mechanized systems
• Work in a hectic and fast-paced environment
