Job Description and Duties
The Department of State Hospitals - Napa, General Services is currently accepting applications for a Full-Time/Permanent SEAMER. The successful candidate will work as a team member in the Clothing Center reporting to the Clothing Center Manager. The Seamer will perform the skilled task in making and repairing clothing and linen using single or double power-driven sewing machine. Other duties and tasks consist of cutting, measuring, and constructing specialty clothing items, curtains, sheets, and other articles. Seamer will be marking, receiving, and sorting unmarked items returned from the laundry and newly purchased clothing for distribution to the units.

Founded in 1875, Napa State Hospital is the only state hospital in Northern California for persons struggling with severe mental illness. Classified as a low to moderate security facility, the hospital has a bed capacity to treat up to 1,362 patients on an attractive campus with treatment units located on 138 acres.
