SEAFOOD/CLERK

About the role

Prepare and display seafood items for sale in an efficient, sanitary and artistic manner and in accordance with company standards and policies. Perform customer service functions and follow all company policies and procedures. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, display, and merchandise seafood items according to company standards, recipes, and food‑safety policies.
• Provide prompt, cheerful, and professional customer service at the counter.
• Unload, store, and rotate merchandise; maintain proper signage, freshness, quantity, quality, and space allocation.
• Monitor product temperatures and quality to ensure safety and freshness.
• Keep sales areas, backrooms, and coolers clean, organized, and well‑stocked.
• Wash and sanitize cookware, utensils, carts, tools, and equipment in compliance with health‑department regulations.
• Maintain equipment and facilities safely according to company policies.
• Operate cash register in accordance with company procedures, when applicable.
• Adhere to all company policies, state and federal laws, and food‑handling regulations.
• Work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Requirements

• Effective written and oral communication skills for engaging customers and associates.
• Ability to read shelf tags, signs, product labels, training materials, and bulletins.
• Strong multitasking, prioritization, and presentation skills; ability to work with all organizational levels.
• Personal initiative, follow‑through, and ability to work as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proficiency in production, merchandising, and customer service related to merchandise sales.
• Capability to safely use cleaning solutions, sharp tools, and production equipment.
• Dependable work record reflecting integrity.
• Knowledge of employment practices, safety, and food‑handling laws and regulations.
• Experience in grocery retail, customer service, and food preparation.

Schedule

Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
