About the role

As a member of the Freight Forwarding team at Kuehne+Nagel, you will play a key role in transporting goods, optimizing processes, and fulfilling our customers' promises. By transporting medicines, toys, and important machine parts, you are not only delivering goods but also making small and big moments possible for people all around the world.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the FCL Import Pricing Team to develop competitive pricing solutions and prepare responses to local and regional RFQs, as well as spot quote requests.
  • Manage pricing updates for existing customers, including rate extensions and revisions, monthly General Rate Increases (GRIs), quarterly bunker surcharge adjustments (BAF/BUC), and other market-driven changes.
  • Collaborate closely with Trade Managers to monitor market trends, carrier performance, and trade lane developments, ensuring pricing strategies remain competitive and aligned with market conditions.
  • Support the Pricing Manager and Supervisor in developing and executing pricing strategies that drive growth, profitability, and customer retention across new and existing business opportunities.
  • Utilize internal systems and pricing tools to generate accurate customer quotations, maintain rate databases, and develop a strong understanding of carrier services, schedules, and product offerings.
  • Oversee the booking authorization process, coordinating with origin offices while aligning with established pricing guidelines and carrier strategies to optimize commercial outcomes.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in Sea Logistics, preferably with pricing, procurement, or ocean freight quotation experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to influence decisions and collaborate effectively across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to evaluate market trends, pricing data, and commercial opportunities.
  • Highly process-oriented with strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and results-driven mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities, anticipate challenges, and take initiative to deliver solutions.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain effective timeline management, ensuring customer deadlines and business expectations are consistently met.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Collaborative team player with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to support colleagues in achieving shared goals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and the ability to learn and navigate internal pricing and logistics systems.

Pay

The target hourly rate for this position is between $30.29 and $36.06. Individual pay may vary based on factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
