Responsibilities
- Aid in managing and sustaining SDV MK 8 vehicles until they are decommissioned and oversee the introduction of new SWCS vehicles upon delivery.
- Engage in design reviews, research and development, construction, and fabrication of SDV and SWCS, along with temporary modifications and maintenance support.
- Ensure adherence to technical standards and specifications to maintain full operational capabilities and certifications.
- Conduct component and vehicle certifications, reliability tests, and system integrity checks to maintain system integrity and certification requirements.
- Assist in the layout and design of new systems and modifications of existing systems.
- Participate in the development of specifications for all material procurement, both standard and special.
- Assist in the preparation of technical manuals, training aids, and drawings for SWCS assigned systems.
- Review test data and prepare reports detailing test results, summarizing conclusions to verify compliance with operation and certification requirements.
Requirements and Education
- High School Diploma or GED with at least ten (10) years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field with four (4) years of relevant experience.
- Minimum ten (10) years of experience with U.S. Navy submarines or submersible platforms.
- Minimum ten (10) years of experience with submarine mechanical and electrical systems or components.
- Minimum ten (10) years of experience with supply chain or inventory management.
- Minimum ten (10) years of experience with Naval quality assurance programs.
- Four (4) years of experience with NAVSEA 9290 requirements.
- Must be able to embark, operate, and maintain test support watercraft and experimental vessels in the open ocean or restricted waters to support tests.
- Secret level clearance required.
- Prior military experience preferred.
