  • Develop automation code and test utilities using Java and applicable testing frameworks and tools.
  • Own end-to-end testing activities for applications of moderate to high complexity, including test strategy, test planning, test case design, automation development, execution, defect analysis, and release validation.
  • Develop and maintain automated smoke, functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end test suites across UI, API/service, and database layers.
  • Build, enhance, and maintain reusable test automation frameworks supporting multiple application platforms, including web, mobile, and desktop environments.
  • Develop automated acceptance tests based on business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Work alongside software developers and business stakeholders to incorporate automated testing throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Perform API and service-level testing, including validation of requests, responses, integrations, data, error handling, and business logic.
  • Perform UI automation testing for web and mobile applications using tools such as Selenium and Appium.
  • Perform backend and database validation using SQL queries and other appropriate data-validation techniques.
  • Develop and execute manual test cases when requirements or scenarios cannot be effectively validated through automation.
  • Support mobile application test automation across Android and/or iOS platforms.
  • Perform functional, integration, regression, system, and other applicable forms of software testing.
  • Support non-functional testing activities, including application and service performance testing.
  • Develop and execute performance tests using JMeter or comparable tools.
  • Analyze project documentation, technical requirements, user stories, customer needs, and product objectives to develop comprehensive test scenarios.
  • Identify, document, track, troubleshoot, and assist with the resolution of application defects and automation failures.
  • Work with software engineers to troubleshoot and remediate automation issues across development, testing, and deployment environments.
  • Debug application, test automation, integration, and environment issues and assist development teams in identifying root causes.
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, and related DevOps technologies.

  • Participate in code reviews, pull requests, and other software engineering quality practices.
  • Apply Test-Driven Development (TDD), Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), and other modern software development and testing practices where appropriate.
  • Participate in Scrum ceremonies, including daily standups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring quality engineering considerations are incorporated throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with development, product, business, infrastructure, security, and cloud teams to ensure applications meet functional and technical quality requirements.
  • Support existing software applications, including application issue analysis and resolution, configuration, security and permissions management, and user support as needed.
  • Evaluate existing testing processes and identify opportunities to improve automation coverage, reliability, efficiency, and maintainability.
  • Advocate for test automation and quality engineering improvements and communicate recommendations to technical leadership and management.
  • Help establish and promote software testing, automation, and quality engineering standards and best practices.
  • Support production release readiness and help ensure final application quality prior to deployment.
  • Perform other duties as required.
