About the role

The role is for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) who will develop and maintain Java-based automation scripts for UI, API, and backend testing. They will also perform API testing using Rest Assured and database validation using JDBC/JPA.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java-based automation scripts for UI, API, and backend testing.
• Apply Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and best practices in automation code.
• Perform API testing using Rest Assured and database testing with JDBC/JPA.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data validation and backend testing.
• Develop a detailed understanding of the product being delivered.
• Ensure process compliance and manage associated documentation.
• Align risk and control processes into day-to-day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Java programming, including Collections Framework, Exception Handling, and Streams/Lambda expressions.
• Hands-on experience with Java-based test automation frameworks such as Selenium, TestNG, or JUnit.
• Familiarity with build tools like Maven or Gradle and dependency management.
• Experience with API testing using Rest Assured and database testing with JDBC/JPA.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as Oracle, DB2, or Snowflake.
• Problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of DevOps tools and methodologies.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and Scrum.

Skills

Desired skills include:

• Experience with front-end testing frameworks like Cypress or Puppeteer.
• Experience with performance testing tools like LoadRunner or JMeter.
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker or Kubernetes.
