Job Description
Seeking a Scientist I to support analytical development activities for nanoparticle-based gene therapy products. The role involves characterization of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) encapsulating nucleic acids, analysis of raw materials, generation of analytical data, and evaluation of physicochemical properties related to formulation performance.
- Maintaining laboratory documentation
- Buffer preparation
- Instrument calibration and maintenance
- Supporting analytical laboratory operations
Responsibilities
- Characterization of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) encapsulating nucleic acids
- Analysis of raw materials
- Generation of analytical data
- Evaluation of physicochemical properties related to formulation performance
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with lipid nanoparticle (LNP) characterization and analysis
- Experience with RiboGreen assays
- Experience with Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS)
- Experience with Zeta Potential measurements
- Buffer formulation and preparation
- Analytical testing of nucleic acid/LNP formulations and raw materials
- Laboratory documentation and analytical data recording
- Instrument calibration and maintenance
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
Preferred Skills
- Hands-on experience with High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)
- Experience with additional analytical characterization techniques for nanoparticle or pharmaceutical formulations
- Knowledge of in vivo/ex vivo gene therapy, genome editing, or nucleic acid delivery systems
- Experience correlating physicochemical characteristics with formulation efficacy and safety
- Experience with GraphPad Prism and/or JMP statistical analysis software
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline
- Minimum 2+ years of relevant industry or laboratory experience
