Scrum Master Senior - IT Development
About the role
The Scrum Master Senior is responsible for driving Agile delivery excellence, enabling high-performing teams, and ensuring consistent execution aligned to business priorities. This role facilitates Agile practices, removes impediments, and fosters a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and delivery predictability.
How You Will Make An Impact
- Responsible for the administrative, coaching and leadership roles that make Scrum development/delivery possible.
- Works with business partners to identify and implement multiple and complex technical systems and/or products of varying sizes.
- Manages medium to large systems and/or products.
- Acts as a buffer between the team and process overhead, so each team member can focus on the timely delivery of software.
- Shields the team from interruptions and removes obstacles that may impact the delivery of the product.
- Guides the teams operations by facilitating ceremonies (e.g. daily standup, sprint planning) and instilling Agile principles into daily activities to ensure smooth functioning of the delivery team.
- Facilitates internal and external communications (e.g. task coordination, progress tracking/reporting, dependency management).
- Ensure team is well-informed on internal and external initiatives and activities.
- Keeps external stakeholders, collaborators, and other interested parties well-informed on team progress and activities.
- To ensure smooth delivery of team, tracks and removes obstacles and barriers that may prevent progress.
Requirements
- BS/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field of study with IT focus degree and a minimum of 5 years experience implementing Agile methodologies; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills & Capabilities
- Scrum Master certification (e.g., CSM, PSM) strongly preferred.
- Proven experience as a Scrum Master supporting Agile delivery teams in a complex, cross-functional environment.
- Strong knowledge of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and delivery best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate teams, manage stakeholders, and drive accountability for outcomes.
- Experience with Agile tools (Jira, Jira Align, Confluence).
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Experience supporting release management and coordination across distributed (onshore/offshore) teams.
- Strong dependency management.
- Experience with CSM, CSPO and medium sized Agile implementations (e.g. 5-7 or more teams) strongly preferred.
Pay & Location
Location: Illinois. This role requires associates to be in-office 1–2 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within a commuting distance from an office.
Salary range: $102,960 to $169,884
