Scrum Master/ Release Management

About the Role

This is a remote contract position for a Scrum Master who will facilitate Agile and SAFe practices, manage the Azure DevOps backlog, and oversee release management processes.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate Agile Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
• Manage and maintain the Azure DevOps backlog with well-defined user stories, acceptance criteria, dependencies, and technical documentation.
• Track and report Agile delivery metrics including Velocity, Burndown, Cycle Time, Lead Time, Deployment Frequency, MTTR, and Change Failure Rate.
• Own and manage the release calendar, change documentation, and end-to-end release management process.
• Coordinate release activities including code freezes, regression testing, go/no-go meetings, rollback planning, and environment promotion (INT, CERT, PROD).
• Enforce release quality gates by ensuring successful regression testing, SonarQube, Veracode security scans, test coverage, and deployment traceability.
• Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for production incidents and implement preventive actions.
• Identify, assess, and proactively mitigate technical risks related to environments, APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and project dependencies.
• Facilitate SAFe ceremonies including PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, System Demos, and Inspect & Adapt sessions.
• Promote test automation by driving unit testing, integration testing, API contract validation, and CI/CD best practices.
• Manage technology modernization initiatives and prioritize technical debt within the product backlog.
• Coach Agile teams on Scrum, SAFe, continuous improvement, self-organization, and monitor production health using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Splunk.
