About the role
The Scrum Master plays a critical role in enabling Agile delivery within the ICT environment by facilitating Scrum practices, coaching teams, and embedding Agile values across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
- Ensure Scrum principles, Agile values, and best practices are understood and consistently applied by the team.
- Support teams in delivering high-quality solutions iteratively and incrementally.
- Protect the team from external distractions and remove impediments to enable focus and productivity.
- Act as a servant leader, coaching team members, Product Owners, and stakeholders on Agile ways of working.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and collaboration.
- Guide self-organization and cross-functional collaboration.
- Encourage transparency, inspection, and adaptation through effective use of Agile metrics.
- Facilitate effective communication between delivery teams, Product Owners, and business stakeholders.
- Manage backlog refinement and prioritization in collaboration with the Product Owner.
- Manage expectations and promote realistic delivery commitments.
Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification - Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or equivalent Agile certification – essential.
- SaFe Scrum Master certification – advantageous.
- 3–6 years’ experience working in Agile/Scrum environments (preferably within the ICT sector).
- Proven experience facilitating Scrum teams delivering software or technology solutions.
- Experience working in complex, fast-paced digital environments.
- Exposure to scaled Agile frameworks and cross-team dependencies is beneficial.
- Telco / networking experience will be an advantage.
- Willing to work after hours and weekends.
- Strong understanding and practical application of Agile methodologies and Scrum framework.
Technical & Agile Skills
- Strong knowledge of Scrum, Agile frameworks, and Lean principles.
- Experience with Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar.
- Understanding of software development lifecycles and ICT delivery models.
